Kim Ji Young, Born in 1982 Movie Review

Assalamualaikum

I just watched movie title "Kim Ji Young, Born in 1982 " on TVN movie last night.

Ive been waiting to watch this movie for a while. But always get distracted. Here is the review.

Title :Kim Ji Young, Born in 1982

I just watched this movie last night. This movie originally adapted from a novel with the same title "Kim Ji young:Born 1982". Story about a young woman which is also a daughter, a daughter in law, a wife, a mom and a successful career woman once, without realizing it, losing her ownself as time goes by. Growing up in a family that cared for male descendants. Working under the circumstances, male workers are always at an advantage.

Then, she got married to the man she love, had a baby and letting go her career for that.losing her shape and style. With addition, she has to deal with stereotypes family in law. Eventually, she got a depression and act like somebody else. Luckily for her, she is married to a great husband which able to detect the changes in his wife attitude and encourage her to seek help from experts(psychiatrists) . The husband understand, support, help and comfort her throughout the phase.
Personally I think this is good exemplary movie for us a modern woman. We often being criticized and belittled in whatever we do. Surprisingly, other woman hurts us too. This movie summarised it very well.
But there is one phrase and scene in the script of the movie that really take me aback. 'why spend energy to hurt others?'

Even in Islam there is hadith

The Prophet(saw) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or keep silent”(Bukhari and Muslim). So lets just be nice to each other especially during this peak season. There is no need to hurt other people and spend so much energy for that. Every each if us has their own way and right to feel happy and respectful.
For this past few years, i faced a difficult journey. A single painful and discourage word can make me doubtful of myself and the choice of life. So often, i just put my trust in Allah s.w.t. I said to myself, Innallahamaana.
May Allah protect us from this musibah.
Stay safe, stay home.

Love Allah, love Nabi Muhammad, love your family and friends and love your ownself
